Job Description
- Managing the inventory of merchandise in order to ensure that it does not run out and that there is enough on hand for customers to buy
- Implementing new inventory control methods or technology as needed to improve efficiency
- Maintaining security over all merchandise by monitoring employee activity and conducting audits of inventory records
- Setting sales goals and monitoring inventory levels to ensure they are met
- Making sure that merchandise is available and displayed properly in accordance with company standards
- Scheduling employees to work specific shifts to ensure optimum coverage of store operations
- Managing employees such as by hiring, training, scheduling shifts, reviewing performance, and providing feedback
- Communicating with suppliers about new product offerings and pricing changes to ensure that store shelves are stocked properly
- Establishing guidelines for the use of cash registers, computers, scanners, and other equipment used in the store
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in business, logistics, or related field
- 2-3 years experience in inventory management or a similar role
- Ability to develop and implement efficient inventory control procedures
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
- Outstanding leadership and interpersonal skills
