Job Description
We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Area Sales Manager (ASM) to oversee and grow our FMCG sales operations . The ideal candidate will have deep market knowledge of the region, strong distributor and retail network experience, and a proven ability to lead and motivate a high-performing sales team.
Key Responsibilities:
-Sales Planning & Execution:Develop and implement area-specific sales strategies in line with company objectives to achieve revenue, distribution, and visibility targets.
-Team Leadership:Lead, train, and mentor Territory Sales Officers (TSOs), Sales Executives, and Field Sales Staff to drive performance and ensure KPI achievement.
-Distributor Management:Appoint and manage distributors; ensure ROI, stock levels, order generation, timely payment, and delivery coordination.
-Retail Coverage & Expansion:Monitor and improve numeric and weighted distribution; identify and onboard new outlets to expand retail footprint.
-Performance Tracking:Analyze daily/weekly/monthly sales reports; take corrective actions for underperforming areas.
~Market Intelligence:Monitor competitor activities, pricing, promotions, and market trends; suggest tactical responses.
~Promotional Activities:Execute trade and consumer promotions; ensure POS materials and schemes are properly deployed.
-Customer Relationship Management:Build strong relationships with key retailers, stockists, and distributors to drive brand loyalty and sales.
Job Requirements
- 4–6 years of relevant sales experience in FMCG, with minimum 4 years as an Area Sales Manager in the given region.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field (MBA preferred).
- Strong understanding of the local market and channel dynamics (GT/MT/Wholesale)
- Proficient in sales analytics and reporting
- Excellent leadership, communication, and negotiation skills
- Familiarity with MS Office and sales reporting tools (e.g., Salesforce, SAP)
- In-depth knowledge of market, existing trade relations, and proven track record in handling territory sales.
